XXV Workshop on Accounting and Management Control

Memorial Raymond Konopka

Universidad Pablo de Olavide

(Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the Workshop dates have been postponed until safe dates)

Konopka 2021 Update

As consequence of the Pandemic, and with the intention of keeping the in-person tradition that featured the Workshop, we had to put the event on hold.

Right now, it seems that the vaccines will be widely used by summer, and this will bring about a significant change for the organization of academic events.

We expect to get more precise information by Spring, and we will get back to the attenders with a final decision on the organization of the 25th Edition of the Workshop. Hopefully, we will be able to announce an in-person edition after next summer.

For whatever comment or question that may arise, please, do not hesitate to contact us (fguthid@upo.es).

In any case, we will maintain a line of communication with anyone interested in the workshop through this website.

Wishing all of us the best solution to this situation, we send you a warm greeting, and thank you for your understanding and support.

"The Raymond Konopka Workshop series constitute a unique event to exchange knowledge and receive feedback on research projects and paper. The friendly, and high profile, academic environment provides junior faculty with great opportunities to further develop their research and make it suitable for submission to top-tier, premier outlets."

Sofía Lourenco

"I really enjoyed Konopka 2019 in Coimbra. It had outstanding plenary speakers, a collegial and friendly environment in the parallel sessions, many opportunities to network with colleagues, and great social events. The workshop is a great opportunity to interact with junior and senior colleagues, develop new research ideas, and start novel collaborations. I look forward to Konopka 2020 in Seville."

Ernesto López-Valeiras

Memorial Raymond Konopka provides an unsurpassable context for presenting research in management accounting. Both young and senior researcher benefit from valuable feedback and interaction with other colleagues and the leading invited academics. From my point of view, this is the leading conference in management accounting in Spain. I do recommend you to attend the XXV Konopka in Sevilla.

The workshop constitutes a discussion forum for researchers with an interest in the organizational and social aspects of accounting systems. A large number of researchers have widened the traditional limits of Accounting to consider its impact on organizations and on society in general. This is why the workshop values the social implication of Accounting as well as the interdisciplinarity of papers. Interdisciplinarity refers to strong relationships between Management Accounting and other organizational fields (e.g. Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources or R&D) as well as social fields (e.g. Social and Environmental Responsibility and Accounting History).
